Flip! started life from a simple idea. To provide a website for students by students. We got sick of those generic sites created by 40 year old men and women that have no idea about student life. Launched in 2006 we aimed to provide practically everything ranging from news on art & culture, television, music, drinking games, sex advice, gaming reviews. Over the years we have added new features and adapted the website to keep in touch with our audience.

With the arrival of social networking we have been able to get more students involved in all that we do including featuring new up and coming bands, artists and DJs thanks to the likes of Myspace and Facebook.

Flip! remains one of the most visited websites for hip young students in the UK, and still has a firm grip on its roots. No matter how flashy we may occasionally seem, it’s all designed, written and implemented by our evolving digital team made of of volunteers and editorial staff. They really, honestly, have nothing better to do than to produce content that our audience love.

In 2009, Flip! joined forces with Reach Your Goal to create the Student Scape Network. RYG had the same aims as Flip! and helped us connect to the high school audience of the North West. The RYG website was redesigned to incorparate more of Flip’s features and give the RYG audience more say in the content they were viewing. In August 2009, Student Scape made the decission to merge the two sites to cover more of the country and kept the Flip! Name.
