Flip! sprouted forth as a bedroom run set up covering practically everything ranging from culture, television, drinking, sex, gaming and music that excited its authors back in the hazy, simple days of 2005, way before your Nan would have even heard of Facebook. Since then Flip has grown up big and strong, turning from hobby to full time concern, moving to ‘trendy’ Manchester and taking over the UK with its funny banter and charming witt.

Flip! remains one of the most visited websites for hip young students in the UK, and still has a firm grip on its roots. No matter how flashy we may occasionally seem, it’s all designed, written and implemented by our evolving digital team made of of volunteers and editorial staff, many of whom have been here from the very start. They really, honestly, have nothing better to do.

Oh, and in case you were wondering – the name comes from the idea of Flip’in a generic student site on its head and making it cool. We cant explain it any better than that really.
