She Fought For It And She Got It!

Thats right Mrs. Cole has her first number 1 and everyone knew it was comming! So this means we have a new number 1 and that Cheryl Cole has knocked her own star, Alexandra Burke,  off the top spot, nice of her, eh? I guess her ’surprise’ party from hubby Ashley Cole is on, how lovely.

So as well as a new number 1 we have two non-movers in this weeks top 10, those being Chipmunk with Oopsy Daisy at number 3 and Michael Buble with Haven’t Met You which has been at number 9 for two weeks now. We also have a new entry by Young Soul Rebles with there charity songs I Got Soul, which reached number 10, even though it’s a charity song…I personally wanted this to beat Cheryl Cole, but hey, we all have our own opinions, don’t we?

Within this weeks top 10 we also see 5 singles dropping including Jay-Z, The Black Eyed Peas and good old nut case Robbie Williams, and one Whitney climbing up the chart to number 5.

The Foo Fighters have gone straight to number 22 with there new single Wheels, just to let you all know, I predict a climb from those for next week, although it’s not as good as Pretender! Also one of Ian’s favourites, Calvin Harris has hit number 30 with Flashbacks, another climber for next week from us!

Over on the album chart, Alexandra Burke has pipped Mr Buble to be number 1. Her album overcome looks set to be knocked off next week by Cheryl Coles. Two more new entries in the top of the chart include Whitney Houston at Number 3 and Sea Sick Steve at Number 4. Paolo Nutini is a non mover at Number 5, whilst Number 6 is a new entry for Fleetwood Mac. Spandau Ballet also have a new entry at Number 7 whilst Number 8 is a slip of six places for Chipmunk. Paloma Faith has climbed seven places to Number 9 whilst Vera Lynn has droped down 4 places to Number 10.

In music news, Lily Allen has been confirmed to perform her new single on Strictly Come Dancing. The show’s host Bruce (Coffin Dodger) Forsyth revealed the news on Saturday night on BBC One. Rod Stewart has also signed up for the show apparently. Continuing with our girls in pop theme, La Roux have announced details of a nine-date live tour in spring 2010.

The dates include, April 26 – Reading, Hexagon, April 28 – Brighton, Concert Hall, April 29 – Cambridge, Corn Exchange, April 30 – Bournemouth, O2 Academy, May 2 – Glasgow, Academy, May 3 – Sheffield, O2 Academy, May 4 – Manchester, Academy, May 5 – Cardiff, University, May 7 – London, Brixton Academy.

And Finally. Lady GaGa has announced the details of the UK leg of her ‘Monster Ball’ arena tour.

The American singer will visit nine cities on the jaunt, which kicks off in Manchester on February 18, 2010. Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday, October 30.

This weeks chart is looking rather good too me, i’m going to go and say you lot like it too, seeing as though it all of us buying and downloading this tunes!

Till next week my friends, when we’ll see if Cheryls dream is either short or long lived!

I can see the logic in your argument but her song is the biggest download of the year so far!
