Its that time of year again when the stars of British music get together to find out who is better. So as well as our live blog we bring your our predictions on who we think will win big. So lets start of with the ladies first.

British Female Solo Artist
Bat for Lashes, Florence & the Machine, Leona Lewis, Lily Allen, Pixie Lott

Pixxie Lott may be the bookies favorite to win, but we think the award belongs to Florence & The Machine. All the other acts have not had as big a year as Florence has.

British Male Solo Artist
Calvin Harris, Dizzee Rascal, Mika, Paolo Nutini, Robbie Williams

Although we think that Calvin Harris deserves to win the award, we believe this is the year of the Rascal. Dizzee has worked with some massive producers this year, including Mr Harris. After missing out on so many Brit awards over the year we think that 2010′s awards will finally his time.

British Breakthrough Act
Florence & the Machine, Friendly Fires, JLS, La Roux, Pixie Lott

There are three acts in this list we love, two we don’t. La Roux, Friendly Fires and Florence & the Machine have had massive singles and albums that we absolutely love, where as JLS and Pixie Lott have done nothing in our eyes that stands out. Florence has been the ultimate breakthrough act and deserves to win.

British Group

Doves, Friendly Fires, JLS, Kasabian, Muse

The two groups that deserve this award are Kasabian and Muse. Kasabian have been called the Oasis lite but we disagree with this. Kasabian have some of the biggest songs played in Indie clubs nationwide but then again so do Muse. Muse are on the way to cracking and America and are favourites to win. We would be happy with this.

MasterCard British Album
Dizzee Rascal – Tongue n’Cheek, Florence & the Machine – Lungs, Kasabian – West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum, Lily Allen – It’s Not Me, It’s You, Paolo Nutini – Sunny Side Up

Album wise these are all strong contenders and we have no idea who will win this one but we bet it will be between Florence and Dizzee.

British Single
Alesha Dixon – Breathe Slow, Alexandra Burke Ft Flo Rida – Bad Boys, Cheryl Cole – Fight For This Love, Joe McElderry – The Climb, JLS – Beat Again, La Roux – In For The Kill, Lily Allen – The Fear, Pixie Lott – Mama Do, Taio Cruz – Break Your Heart
Tinchy Stryder Ft N-Dubz – Number 1

To be honest with you, they could not have picked the worst songs possible. There is only about 3 songs here worthy of the award but our favourite is La Roux and In For The Kill. La Roux has come from no where to have some of the biggest songs and biggest remixes of the year.

Critics’ Choice has already been announced and went straight to Ellie Goulding

BRITs Album of 30 Years
Coldplay – A Rush of Blood to the Head, Dido – No Angel, Dire Straits – Brothers in Arms, Duffy – Rockferry, Keane – Hopes & Fears, Oasis – (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, Phil Collins – No Jacket Required, Sade – Diamond Life, The Verve – Urban Hymns, Travis – The Man Who

Without a shadow of a doubt we think this award belongs to Oasis. (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is not only the album of the century but it is what the Brits is all about.

The BRITs Hits 30
Bee Gees – Stayin’ Alive/How Deep is Your Love, Bros. – I Owe you Nothing, Coldplay – Clocks
Eurythmics & Stevie Wonder – Angel, Girls Aloud – The Promise, Kanye West – Gold Digger, Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Out of my Head, Michael Jackson – Earth Song, Paul McCartney – Live & Let Die, Pet Shop Boys – Go West, Robbie Williams & Tom Jones – The Full Monty Medley, Scissor Sisters – Take Your Mama, Spice Girls – Wannabe/Who Do You Think You Are, Take That – Beatles Medley, The Who – Who Are You

This award we can see going to Girls Aloud for some reason, even though in all honesty we think it should go to either Cold Play or Kanye West.

International Female Solo Artist

Lady Gaga, Ladyhawke, Norah Jones, Rihanna, Shakira

It has definitely been the year of Lady Gaga and she is the bookies and our favourite to win the award.

International Male Solo Artist

Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Jay-Z, Michael Buble, Seasick Steve

This award belongs to Jay-z with the amount of hits he has had this year. Katie would love me to say Eminem but he doesnt deserve it am affraid.

International Album
Animal Collective – Merriweather Post Pavilion, Black Eyed Peas – The End, Empire of the Sun – Walking on a Dream, Jay-Z – The Blueprint 3, Lady Gaga – The Fame

With massive singles of the year, she deserves the album of the year to with The Fame.

International Breakthrough Act
Animal Collective, Daniel Merriweather, Empire of the Sun, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift

The breakthrough artist of the year is again Lady Gaga. If she does not get this award then there is something seriously wrong.

Outstanding Contribution Award
Robbie Williams – He has won the most Brit awards of any one else so its not very surprising hes won this award.

feck that! Why doesn't Eminem deserve it? Just because Jay-Z has been along longer and has just bought out the blueprint 3 makes him better? nah nah nahhh Eminem has been around 11 years, has had 6 (coming onto 7) studio albums, all but 1 has reached umber 1 in both america, here and all over the world, selling more than 80 million, and well basically cracked into a black mans world and (not to be offensive) made it better, so yer your wrong and im right :)
