Well its no great surprise that this single has gone straight to Number One. Lets face it, soon as you put the words Simon Cowell and Charity together you have a hit on your hands in a matter of moments. In respect of what the single is actually raising money for we think it is an excellent idea. Unfortunatly we can also see a downside with this, Simon Cowell gets to push the stars of his label and newer stars on other record labels don’t get a look in. Is it unfair or just a matter of opinion? We will leave that for you to debate.

On the chart at Number Two is last weeks former Number One, Its Owl City with ‘Fireflies’. The song was on the top spot of the chart for a massive three weeks before falling down the chart. Timbaland and Katy Perry remain a non mover at Number Three with ‘If We Ever Meet Again’ whilst Alicia Keys has to deal with falling down the chart 1 place at Number Four with ‘Empire State Of Mind Part 2′.

Number Five, The cast of Glee remain in the top ten with the cover of ‘Dont Stop Belivin’ dropping only one place from last week. However 3OH!3 and Katy Perry climb up one place with ‘Starstrukk’ at Number Six. In the rest of the chart. At Number Seven, the boys of JLS who have 3 Brit nominations to there name go up the chart one more place with ‘One Shot’.

In at Number Eight, Iyaz drops down two places with his annoying ‘Replay’ song. The ladies from the cast of Glee sit pretty at Number Nine whilst Rihanna climbs the chart ten places to take Number Ten with ‘Rude Boy’.

So thats the top ten singles of this week, but what about the album chart?

Well its looking like. Miss Keys is sat at the top with ‘The Element of Freedom’ and André Rieu ‘Forever Vienna’ is behind her at Number Two. Paolo Nutini remains in the top ten at Number Three with ‘Sunny Side Up’. The album has been on the chart for a massive  37 weeks but wait, Lady Gaga who is in at Number Five has managed to stay on the chart even longer with 57 weeks.

Going back up the chart to Number Four and its a new entry for Sade with ‘Soldier Of Love’. Number six sees the new album from Massive Attack debuting. Just under them is Michael Bublé and ‘Crazy Love’

Florence and the Machine has slipped five places in the chart at Number Nine with ‘Lungs’ and The Black Eyed peas have climbed three places up to ten with ‘The E.N.D’

That’s the music blog this week, check back soon for a Brits Special.
