Its that time of year again when MTV takes over Europe and unites us all through the art of music. Yes that’s right the European Music Awards are back and this time they have taken over Germany. The awards show being held in Germany also marked the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, and this was evident through out the show. This years award was hosted again by the annoying Katy Perry who is really getting to big for her boots. The biggest disapoint we have to say came from Pete Wentz. We love his work in Fall Out Boy, but Pete mate, you ain’t never gonna make it as a presenter.

Beyoncé was the big winner on the night, taking home a trio of trophies including Best song, Best Female and Best Video. Fellow American Lady GaGa had to settle with ‘Best New Artist’ although this is a title she can be very proud of.  Unfortunately for us Brits, the only people to win any award’s was Pixie Lott, and even that she didn’t deserve and last but not least Placebo, who scooped the ‘Best Alternative’ prize.

Other winners at the ceremony included U2, Green Day, Eminem, Jay-Z and German nationals Tokio Hotel.  For the full list of winners, see the list below.
