Every day we have Charity’s wanting our money for something or other, but nine times out of ten we just shrug it off and pass them by. Just a pound here and there is all their asking for and yet most of us are to busy to give it. So feeling a bit guilty about this, we go out and buy a “Charity Single”
This year though it seems we are spoilt for choice though as we have quite a few of them. One of which has already shot to Number One on this weeks chart. So let Flip! give you a round up of what charity single is for what charity and also tell you a bit more about them.
First up lets start with the X Factor. No matter what we do we cant escape it so lets get it out the way first.
X Factor Finalists – ‘You Are Not Alone’ (Watch The Video)

Just as they did last year with ‘Hero’, the finalists for this year’s X Factor have teamed up to record a group song, with the proceeds going to the Great Ormond Street hospital. The song is a cover of Micheal Jackson’s single ‘You Are Not Alone’. As predicted this song has already gone to Number One on the chart, and we expect it to be there for a while. Unless the might of our next charity single can knock its perch.
Peter Kay - Animated All Star Band (Watch The Video)
As we all know Charity is about bringing people together for one cause, and Peter Kay has done exactly that for Children In Need. He is a man that is no stranger to charity songs, with his latest musical fund-raising video event thing. He’s managed to unite several children’s television characters in one go. There is almost 100 famous people involved in performing the song, from the UK and America. It has also taken over 2 years to put together. We loved it so much at Flip towers that we have made it our Single of the Week.

To be honest we are not quite sure what to say about this one. We don’t think it has a hope in of charting on the Top 40 but hey we have been known to be wrong before know so you never know. It’s a fairly simple idea. Four music loving novices attempt to make a pop record and get it into the charts, but they can only use their skill as social networkers to help them. All the money raised will go to Children in Need. Good luck to them is all we can say.
Another song that’s worth a mention is Young Soul Rebels.

Tinchy Stryder, Pixie Lott, N-Dubz, Frankmusik, Chipmunk, VV Brown, Ironik, Bashy, MPHO, McLean, Kid British, Egypt, Domino Go and the London Community Gospel Choir have all teamed up to help raise money for War Child. The song was released last month but didn’t make it big. The song is a rework of The Killers song “All These Things that I’ve Done.
