This week seen two new number ones on the charts. On the album chart, The Editors have entered at Number One with there second album “In This Light And On This Evening”. Other new enteries on the album chart include Chipmunk who’s in at Number Two with “I Am Chipmunk” and Shakira who enters the chart at Number Four with “She Wolf”. “Wordshaker”, The Saturdays second album has gone in to the charts at Number Nine. Madonna’s slipped down to third this week whilst Paolo Nutini has gone up 26 places to Number Five with album “Sunny Side Up”. Vera Lynn has dropped down a place to Sixth, whilst Barbra Streisand’s “Love Is The Answer” slips down 6 places to seventh. Dizzee Rascal’s “Tongue N cheek has gone up one place to Number eight whilst Jay Z’s “The Blueprint 3″ has dropped 4 places to Tenth.

On the single charts, Last years X Factor winner has topped the charts with single “Bad Boy” featuring Flo Rida whilst Robbie Williams who made an appearance on the show last week is in at Number Two with “Bodies”. Last weeks former Number One has slipped to Number Three and Taio Cruz has stayed at Number Four with “Break Your Heart”. Number Five see’s Jay Z slipped Two places whilst Black Eyed Peas have climbed two places to Number Six. Shakira’s “She Wolf” is a non mover at Number Seven, whilst at Number Eight is the Saturdays with “Forever Is Over”. Michael Buble has a new entry in the chart at Number Nine with “Haven’t Met You Yet” and Number Ten see’s a slip of five places for Akon and David Guetta with “Sexy Chick”.

In Muisc News, Madonna has apparently said that she is sick of her old songs. Reports in The Sun have quoted her as saying “Not to toot my own horn but they always play my old stuff when I’m in a shop or wherever,” she said. “They are usually songs I am really sick of though, and I have to say, ‘Oh, please turn this off’.” She then continued to say, “It’s usually ‘Like A Virgin’ – and that is the one I don’t want to hear.”

MTV have reported that evealed that Blur will feature as playable avatars in its upcoming game title Lego Rock Band. The Britpop group’s ‘Song 2′ will be included on the game’s soundtrack, with band members Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree playing the song as Lego versions of themselves. The game is due for release on the 360, PS3, Wii and DS on November 27.

and finally. Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, is to curate a British music festival next year. The Portland cartoonist will choose all of the artists playing the All Tomorrow’s Parties festival held at Butlins Holiday Centre, Minehead between 7-9 May. Bands for the event are yet to be confirmed but tickets for the weekender go on sale on Friday 16 October.
