
Records have been broken again this week with the Queen Of Pop herself equalising Elvis Presley’s record of the most number one albums by a solo artist. Madge’s Greatest Hits compilation, ‘Celebration’ has entered in to the Album Chart at Number One taking Muse’s album ‘The Resistance’ of the top. Dizzee Rascals new album ‘Tongue N’ Cheek’ has entered the chart at Number Three whilst Mika is at Number Four with ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’.
Peter Andre has fallen to Number Five with his ‘Revelation’ album. If it wasnt bad enough that Vera Lynn topped the charts a couple of weeks ago, Another pensioners at it now is Cliff Richard & The Shadows entering the chart at Number Six. His Fellow oldie Vera Lynn is at Number Seven with ‘We’ll Meet Again’. Jay Z has fallen down four places to Number Eight with album ‘The Blue Print 3′. Pearl Jam are in the chart at Number Nine with ‘Backspacer’ and Kings of Leon are down at Number Ten with ‘Only By The Night’.
The Singles Chart this week looks like this. Taio Cruz take the Number One spot for a second week with single ‘Break Your Heart’ whilst ‘Sexy Bitch’ by Akon and David Guetta still sits pretty at Number Two. In at Number Three is Jay Z & Alicia Keys with ‘Empire State of Mind’. Shakira has gone up a place with single ‘She Wolf’ taking Number Four. Jay Z, Rhianna and Kanye West have slipped down to Number Five with ‘Run This Town’. Black Eyed Peas have also gone up a place with ‘ I Got A Feeling’ at Number Six making Pixie Lott drop down to Number Seven with ‘Boys and Girls’. Madonna drops to Eight with ‘Celebration’ whilst Dizzee slips down to Number Nine with ‘Holiday’. Finally at Number Ten is Mini Viva with ‘Left My Heart In Tokyo’.
Music News time now and it looks like Lily Allen might not be quitting music after all. Both Lily Allen and Dizzee Rascal have announced that they will co-headline two live arena dates next year. Both have made numerous festival appearances over the summer and will both share the stage at Manchester MEN arena on March 5 and London O2 arena on March 7. Tickets will be on sale in October and we reckon they will be going fast.
Elswhere in the world of Pop, Michael Jackson’s not letting death stop him. His UK album sales in the run-up to Christmas are expected to top two million and his label are about to release another new album called ‘This Is It’. Jackson has so far shifted 1.55 million albums since his death.
And finally..The rumor mill has started again. Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has said that Noel Gallagher may perform with them in the future. Kasabian who supported Oasis on there Live Tour have already been tipped to be Oasis’s natural successors. Meighan went on to say ”We’ve got our arena tour in November, Noel will be calling us up nearer the time for sure saying, ‘Lads, I’m going to come perform with you on tour’.
“He’s a performing machine and loves playing live, so he jumps at the opportunity whenever he can join us.”
