This week on the Album charts we finally seen Michael Jackson’s two-month reign on the top end thanks to Calvin Harris. “Ready For The Weekend” has also given Tinchy Stryder a kick in the teeth as his Debut album only made it to Number Two. Jacksons album falls to number six after a massive eight weeks at Number One. But thats not the only Number One to change this week.
Last week the Black Eyed Peas made chart history by getting there single to Number 1 for a second time…twice. The question is now though, can they do it for a third time? With David Guetta and Akon sitting pretty at Number One with there single “Sexy Bitch” i cant see it happening my self personally.
The charts highest new entry this week comes from a 20-year-old Dutch singer called Esmée Denters. Denters was found by a certain Mr Justin Timberlake on Youtube and later signed up by the chart topper. We are expecting big things from Esmée whos single “Get Me Outta Here” could very well be a contender for Number One next week.
Also climbing high this week is the Lovely Lily Allen. She shoots up from 37 all the way up to 23 with her new single 22. So thats your chart news for now but what about music news, Well here goes.
This weekend has seen V Festival invade our TV screens and the big story seems to be about MANChester band Oasis. Front man Liam Gallagher has caught viral laryngitis which has ment the band have had to pull out. Liam is expected to be alright though for there Paris gig on Friday. Lucky French hey!
Sticking with V Fest, American Starlet Lady GaGa was booed after arriving late on stage and then booed again because her set “ran over” so her performance was shortend. Maybe if she had less costume changes she might be able to get to her gig on time hey?
and Finally, Lostprophets have apparently had to scrap an entire album. The band said whilst speaking to XFM,”We made one album, and then scrapped it. We just got a gut feeling. It’s our fourth album, we should know what we’re doing by now.” We should certainly hope so.
