I am 20 and I have a boyfriend – or rather had one. We broke up about two months back. We had been going out for the past year. He still calls very frequently and says he loves me. We broke up because he said he doesn’t want to be in a relationship. Obviously I am still very much in love with him. When we were dating I gave up a lot of activities in college because of him and I know it was stupid to do so. It’s just that now I am confused. He says he loves me, yet doesn’t want to be in a relationship but still it’s like we have a relationship. Help please!

heya Jenni, sounds like a pretty rubbish situation to be in, really. Your bloke, well maybe again, maybe not again bloke, is a little scared of commitment, or maybe he might be confused himself.

You both need to sit down, and have a long chat about your feelings for each other, whether he does have commitment isses and whether or not you both really want this relationship to work.

If he carries on with the whole ‘i love you, but dont want to be with you’ thing, i suggest you both move on, have fun with life and find someone else, who wants you and wants to be with you. It might sound tough at the minute, but trust me, its the best thing, for you both.

Please dont wait around for him, as he may never come back, like i said, it might be hard, but in the long run, it’ll all work out
