Well the guys at Apple have been at it again, an have now finally unveiled the latest version of their all-conquering iPhone. With handset sales now topping 25 million, chances are you’ve got one. But with its handful of unspectacular new features really justify getting upgrade? Or if you dont have one is it time to buy in to Apples way of thinking? Lets see shall we as we give you the low down on the Iphone 3G S. So lets get started.
It’s got a brand new camera
The 3G S sports a three megapixel camera which is an improvement on the 2 Mega pixel it used to sport. Also the new Ipone and comes with touch-adjustable focus. As well as a new camera, the new 3G S now brings you Video capture too, Which you can edit on the fly, then upload to YouTube.
It’s fast and holds a lot more music
With its new beefed-up processor, you can now launch applications twice as fast. The new Iphone is also less laggy and loads internet pages twice as fast. Something you’ll be very grateful for once you’ve stuffed the new 32GB memory full of your tunes and your Luke and Ian show Podcasts.
You can talk to it apparently
Although, to be fair, you always could. Except now it’ll actually do something cool, Like play your favourite album or call your mum. Could even open your favourite student site Flip! in its Safari Browser. Just hold down the home button and say what you want. Then either amaze or freak out your friends by talking to that piece of shiney metal in your hand.
It’s got a sense of direction
An in-built digital compass? Sort of pointless. Although even if you’re not planning an Arctic expedition, it’ll at least make GPS navigation easier, since it automatically rotates the map to point the way you’re facing. Becomes less useful when you’re face-down in the gutter and pissed as a fart. Not quite a sat nav but hey theres time for that in the next update hey.
What else is out there?
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is loaded with music functions that you can quickly access through the media bar. With this you get a 3.2 Megapixel camera, high speed mobile internet, the option to expand the phone’s memory up to 16GB and lots of connection possibilities with the 3.5 AV connector, Bluetooth, Micro-USB and TV out. The 5800 XpressMusic certainly looks like an iPhone, and it matches its features in many areas (though not all of them: It’s got a less sophisticated, single-touch screen, albeit one with more pixels).
