The Toronto duo Crystal Castles, are ready to blast your ears with some amazing ear sex (Music) with the arrival of there own self-titled full-length debut on March 18th.

Never has Nu-rave dance sounded so good. Castles have a sound like no other. Some may compare them to Hadouken or even the Klaxons, but they have no idea what there talking about. Crystal Castles are unique and there music shows this. Who else do you know that can use there Microphone Test for the first song on there Album?

“Ferocious, asphyxiating sheets of warped two-dimensional Gameboy glitches and bruising drum bombast pierce skull with sheer shrill force, burrowing deep into the brain like a fever” is one summary of the dastardly duo. Erm…don’t think we can top that one to be honest.

So you know about the sound of the band, but who exactly are they? Well that’s simple enough. The band consists of Alice Glass on vocals and Ethan Kath doing everything else really. For the Skins lovers amongst you (and we know there is a lot of them) you may have caught a quick peak of them playing in Episode 3 of Series 2 appearing and performing as themselves.

Now, personally I think this band is going to top the charts in 2008 but with fame there is controversy and here is Castles fair share. As a band that’s gotten quite a lot of positive press for their use of 8-bit sounds, including a keyboard with an Atari chip. (This is the source of the 1 of their problems because it’s novel to mainstream press.)

Unfortunately, some of Crystal Castles’ sound apparently isn’t their own. 8-bit collective again noticed something is amiss, this time with their track “Insecticon.” Far from simply sampling a track, the tune rearranges entire musical contents as the basis of the new tune. (Many in the 8-bit collective community at least claim they’re pro-sampling.).

So are Castle’s common crooks or a mind blowing electric orgasm in your ears? That’s for you to decide. I just write this crap.
